I was thinking to post this on my dA journal but dA is in maintenance, so LJ will do for unleashing anger.
Today is the due date of my physics project, where I need to draw something that can show the principles of light and shadow. I drew a picture of a girl sitting on a chair in the middle of a room... uh, I don't need to show it, rite? Sooo, neext...
When I submit it this morning, do you know what my teacher says?
She shook her head and say, "Did you draw this? Well, I've said that you shouldn't copy other's picture from the internet. You need to draw on your own."
JUST WTF?
Well, a side of my trying to calm me down: 'it's a compliment, she doesn't believe you can make something that good! say thanks or something, then explain' while the other side is like saying: 'she doesn't believe you can draw! she doesn't believe a 8th grader can draw with Photoshop! she underestimates you! beat the hell out of her'.
I told her that I drew it, I scanned it, I colored it with Photoshop and I printed it, all on my own. She still doesn't seem to believe me. "Anyone can steal from the internet," she said again. This time I got sooo annoyed at her.
So I took a paper and a pencil (I don't know who it belongs to but who cares doh) and redraw the sketch of the picture. I showed it to her and told her to compare them.
"Ok, I believe you," she said, finally taking my work. Not apologizing or anything. Argh.
I decided to forget it and leave, but right before I leave her desk, she said, "By the way, the shading over here is wrong." Arghhh. Just give a damn score to it and leave me alone. I don't care.
My friend Gaby drew a very beautiful sketch of a book on a desk. She only used a HB pencil, but her pencil shading was very detailed and pretty. And what did she say to her? "It's nice, but why there's no color? I can't give full mark then. And where's the source of light?" What? What?? It's already so obvious from her shading the light comes from right. Does it have to be a giant lamp or a big smiling sun there to be considered as 'light source'?
My other friend Pamela took a picture. She's pretty good at photography. My teacher said photos are fine but she prefers drawing, so my friend thinks it's fine. And what did she say now? "There's nothing special about this picture. Anyone can take a picture like this."
She may be good in Physics, but may not be in Art. Sheesh.
